Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Shadberry Studios LLC ("Dayfold", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Dayfold application and related services (the "Service"). By using Dayfold, you agree to the practices described here.

If you have any questions, contact us at support@dayfold.app.

1. Summary

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information

When you create an account or sign in, we collect:

We support sign-in with Google, Apple, and email/password. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication. If you sign in with Apple, you may choose to hide your email; we will only receive Apple's private relay address.

2.2 Content you create

Dayfold stores the content you create in the app, including tasks, lists, projects, notes and journal entries, habits, routines, birthdays, pomodoro sessions, and related settings. If you are signed in, this content is stored in your private cloud space so it can sync across your devices. If you use Dayfold offline, this content is stored only on your device.

2.3 Attachments

If you attach photos or files to tasks or projects, those files are stored on your device and, when you are signed in, uploaded to your private cloud storage so they are available across devices.

2.4 Device access (only with your permission)

Dayfold may request access to:

You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.

2.5 What we do NOT collect

We do not use advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking SDKs. We do not collect your location, contacts, or browsing activity, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

3. How we use your information

We use the information above only to:

4. How your information is stored and protected

Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage). Access is protected by security rules that restrict each account's data to that account only - no other user can read or write your data. Data is encrypted in transit. Firebase stores data on Google's infrastructure, which may be located in the United States or other countries.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

5. Sharing and third parties

We share information only with service providers that make the Service possible:

These providers process data on our behalf to run the Service. We do not share your personal information with any other third parties, and we never sell it.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Dayfold or others.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Data → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and all associated data in the cloud (your content and attachments) and signs you out. You can also use Reset app data to wipe your data without deleting your account.

If you use Dayfold offline without an account, deleting the app or using Reset app data removes your local data.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to:

Much of this you can do directly in the app. For any other request, contact us at support@dayfold.app, and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Legal bases (EU/UK GDPR): we process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), based on your consent (for optional device permissions), and for our legitimate interests (securing and improving the Service).

8. Children's privacy

Dayfold is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

By using Dayfold, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Dayfold after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
